Local Elderly Can Receive Tax Assistance From Senior Centers

Alton, Mo. – Although the coronavirus is causing discomfort for the community, business still needs to continue. The local senior centers are working to help meet the needs of the elderly in our communities. That said, the senior centers are announcing that they can help with filing income tax returns, renters rebates, and the Missouri Property Tax Credit.

What Is Happening?

Volunteers are preparing to assist seniors with filing income tax returns, renters rebates, and the Missouri property tax credit. They are not charging any fee! They do request appointments be scheduled ahead of time. If there are any questions, it is good to ask at that time. Certain returns may be beyond the scope of the volunteers’ abilities.

Alton Senior Center is taking appointments for Friday, February 5, 2021, and Friday, March 5, 2021. You can call 417-778-7342 to schedule now.

Thayer Dates

Thayer Senior Center is taking appointments for Friday, February 12, 2021, and Friday, March 12, 2021. Their phone number to call for an appointment is 417-778-7342.
