Alton, Mo. – After a long wait, the First Baptist has a new pastor. David Langston and his wife Debbie accepted the call the this church and are excited to see what God has in plan for the future. AltonMo.com interviewed them. Here’s what we found out.
How He Wants The Church Seen As Stable
These are uncertain times that Missouri and Alton residents live in. Inhabitants need stability. Pastor Langston longs to see the church as a stable environment. He wants the community to know that First Baptist is a church with open doors. The church is here, and the Word is proclaimed. He wants the public to realize that First Baptist Church has a loving congregation.
Future Goals
Pastor Langston wants to additional contact with the local nursing home, Shepherd’s View. He wants to work with Mr. and Mrs. Combs in this. He’d like to see many people who are on the roll call return to the church. If Jesus tarries, in five years he would like to see First Baptist Church as The pivotal church in Oregon County.
