The Alton, Missouri, food bank is held every month on the first Wednesday and the next day. This month it is being held on January 5, and 6, 2022. Homeschoolers and other people are welcomed to help.
Unloading The Truck
On the first Wednesday of the month, January 5, 2022, helpers are requested to arrive at 9:00 am. Once the semi-truck arrives, the people empty the variety of food and put it in the Community Center. Depending on how much help there is, the truck should be unloaded by noon.
Handing Food Out
The next day, January 6, 2022 (a Thursday), volunteers should arrive at the Community Center by 7:30 am. Before the food bank actually starts, the helpers start packing the boxes with food. Since it is a drive-thru food bank, the boxes/bags should already be packed and they will be carried out to the car(s). If there is a lot of cars lined up, the food bank goes all day (unless the food runs out).
Where Is It?
On both days, the volunteers should go to the Community Center right across the street from the Post Office.
