Alton, Mo. – Alton Senior Center recently received a capacity building grant thanks to Ozarks Food Harvest. Ozarks Food Harvest invested $1 million in agency infrastructure throughout southwest Missouri.
What Will The Funds Be Used For?
This funding will purchase miscellaneous dining ware, which will increase food capacity and sustain food distribution and feed families throughout Oregon County. Senior Age was one of more than 70 organizations chosen by Ozarks Food Harvest to receive an agency capacity grant to assist with hunger-relief efforts.
What Is Ozarks Food Harvest
Ozarks Food Harvest is the Feeding America food bank for southwest Missouri. They serve 270 charities across 28 Ozark counties. This capacity building investment is part of the Food Bank’s multi-faceted strategy to address needs identified in Missouri’s Food Assistance and Hunger in the Heartland 2021 report which was conducted by the MU interdisciplinary Center for Food Security.

His key is increasing access to food as their network of hunger related charities continues to deal with expanding food and fuel costs.
Seniors are depending on hot meals, often delivered at home. These meals are provided by Senior Age. They are blessed to help so many in need. And now they have the capability to provide these meals to more in need.
