Churches around the area are getting ready for Christmas, having Christmas parties, Christmas Eve services, and so on. A Christmas Eve Eve “Carols by Candlelight” service is happening on December 23, 2022, at 5:00 pm at the Alton Community Worship Center. This event is put on by the Alton First Baptist Church.
Guest Musicians
Two musicians will play at the “Carols by Candlelight” service: Clara Keller and Faith Collins. A love offering will be taken for the musicians.
Clara Keller
Clara Keller came to last year’s Christmas Eve service and played the harp. She was seriously injured in an automobile accident several years ago. Her life story reflects a tragedy turned into triumph! Clara began her career as a professional harpist and harp teacher in 2008, after graduating Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor of music degree from Marywood University, in Pennsylvania. She has served as principal harpist for the Prescott Pops Symphony in Prescott, Arizona, and has performed in multiple other professional venues, including the Branson area.
Faith Collins
Faith Collins will also be playing on December 23rd; she will be playing the violin. Collins is a local resident that was homeschooled and has been seen at Christmas in years past delivering cookies by horseback to area residents. A college professor said, “She is one of the most gifted and motivated students I have ever encountered!” A tragic accident earlier this year left Faith paralyzed from the waist down. She is in rehab and has amazed doctors and therapists with her progress. She has a long road ahead, but we know “all things are possible” with our good God Almighty!

The “Carols by Candlelight” service will be at 6:00 pm on Friday, December 23, 2022, at the Alton Community Worship Center.
Who Can Come?
Anyone can come, whether or not you go to church. This is a time to put aside differences and celebrate the reason for the season, which is Jesus Christ. The event is free, so just bring yourself, your family, and your friends!
