Do you have poor credit? No credit card? These questions can be fixed on June 24, 2023, between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm at Court Square Cafe in Alton, Missouri, where Gene Weinbeck will give credit counseling.

Location and Time

The credit counseling will be at Court Square Café in Alton on Saturday, June 24, from 3-6 pm.

What Will Happen

At the counseling, you can learn how to repair any bad credit yourself for free and see if you qualify for a short-term $500 credit builder loan to improve your credit score. The loan includes a $300 secured credit card. Most qualify, even with bad credit, especially if it is old.

Cost

This free service is funded by the Small Business Administration (SBA) and administered by a nonprofit Community Action Agency. So, no hidden fees or salesmen are lurking in the bushes.

Gene Weinbeck

Gene Weinbeck is the Credit Building Coordinator for this SBA program. His office is in the Ozarks Small Business Incubator (OzSBI) building in West Plains, and he is setting up meetings around the region. As a volunteer business mentor at OzSBI, he will also be happy to talk about business services you can tap into at OzSBI and through his program, including business loans of up to $5,000 for those with poor credit and $50,000 for those with slightly better credit.
