Alton, Mo. – Billy G. Hornback passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023. He was at Baxter Regional in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was 83 and led a blessed life. He met his maker following an unplanned heart complication.
Early Life
Bill was born July 3, 1940, in Anson County, North Carolina. He met his sweetheart in Peachland, NC, and later married her. Together they had three children. Even as a youngster, Bill was known for trading. This carried over to his adult life. You can read more about his early life here.
Missouri Life
At the age of 66, he moved to Missouri. Here, he continued trading. He owned Hornback Cattle, Summersville Stockyard, Oregon County Public Waste, and Hornback Land Co. Before he went to the hospital, he bought 14 horses. He never saw them before he passed away. He was loved by all who met him.
Services
Services are Friday, October 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation is Thursday evening between 6-8 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Alton. Services will be at the same church. Burial will be at the Bailey Freewill Baptist Church cemetery, the New Bailey Cemetery.
