While most people are thinking about holiday celebrations and gift-giving right now, Congress is still at work. Among other votes, Representative Smith is trying to return choices that the federal government tried to take away back to American parents.

What type of milk should schoolchildren receive for lunch? The federal government, coming from Biden, proposed limiting school lunch milk options to only fat-free or low-fat types of milk and prohibiting students from drinking flavored milk until high school. This house resolution ensures that parents and students who participate in school lunch programs are offered various milk options including flavored and unflavored whole, reduced-fat, low-fat, fat-free, and lactose-free milk options. Representative Smith voted yes. This passed.

H.R. 5378

This resolution enacts a series of provisions to increase price transparency in health care, decrease health care costs, extend certain health care programs, and increase access to health information. Representative Smith voted yes. This passed.

This strongly condemns the rise of antisemitism on university campuses across the country, including naming various campus presidents who violated their campus rules of conduct. This passed, and Representative Smith voted in favor.

H.R. 5119

This resolution extends applicable deadlines for small businesses to report certain information while prohibiting FinCEN from allowing small businesses to satisfy their reporting requirements by stating they cannot obtain the required information or identify their beneficial owners. This did pass, and Representative Smith voted in favor of it.
