At the recent Walnut Festival Committee meeting, several people commented on how to attract more visitors and stay longer at the festival. One suggestion was to offer demonstrations of various crafts. The chamber seeks craftsmen to demonstrate what they do during the festival.
Types Of Crafts
The Chamber is looking for tradesmen. Do you know someone who dyes wool? How about a blacksmith? What about a wood carver? And there is always a walnut huller? Do you know one? Other tradesmen are encouraged to come.
What Is Expected
The chamber will set you up in the pocket park between the library and Jo’Ellas. All of the tradespeople can be together to demonstrate what they know. Attendees can be directed to a single place for live demonstrations.
The demonstrator will be highlighted at the festival. Besides showing what you know, they can sell what they make.
When Is This?
The Walnut Festival will be held on October 5, 2024, the first Saturday of October, this year. It will last from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
