Pine trees are abundant in Missouri. While they are windbreaks, and some use them as ornamental, were you aware they can be eaten? The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is hosting an online session to teach people how to prepare them for consumption.

What Is Happening?

MDC wants to teach people the healthy benefits of eating pine trees. MDC Conservation Educator Andy Rhodes will explain how parts of the pine tree can be used to make tea and as flour for cookies.

People can learn more about the virtual program “Outdoor Survival: Bushcraft Series – Pine Needle Program.”

When Is This?

This class happens on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, between noon and 1:00 pm.
