Alton, Mo. – On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, a city council meeting was held at the Alton Multipurpose building. The main topic of the meeting was the controversy over the store, The Underground, on the square.
The Meeting
Over fifty individuals attended the meeting, either to voice their concerns or listen to everyone else. Over a dozen people spoke about their concerns about The Underground.
The Store
The store, The Underground, is an “adult store,” selling porn, sex toys, as well as having gambling machines.
