Demographics For The Alton Polling Location For General Elections

Tuesday, November 5, 2024, was the general elections. At the Alton, Missouri, polling location at the Alton First Baptist Church, the AltonMo.com took a survey of the voters. (All statistics may not add up to 100% due to rounding.)

Males vs. Females

The vote was evenly split between males and females between the times the tallies were taken.

  • Males who voted: 49.9%
  • Females who voted: 50.1%

Ages

The AltonMo.com field team also took tallies of what age group voted the most. The age groups were 18-30, 31-70, and 70+.

  • 18-30: 29.1%
  • 31-70: 53.0%
  • 71+: 17.9%

Kids Brought

Multiple schools were out for the day due to flooding and excessive rain. Partly because of that, parents took their kids with them to vote. Although the number may be small, it only includes those that brought their kids inside the polling location; it does not count the kids who stayed in the vehicle.

  • Brought kids to vote: 1.5%

Ballots Cast

By 9:30 am, 280 people had cast their vote already. By 12:30, 490 individuals had voted. Right before 6:00 pm, 905 people had voted and more were still coming in.
