Because the old tire swing wood was rotting, the city of Alton, Missouri, voted to take it down and put up a new swing. Now, Tucker Creek Park has two new swings for all to enjoy.
Rotting Wood
In the December city council meeting, they mentioned that the tire swing had been taken down due to rotting wood. In the January meeting, the council reported getting a new swing but they hadn’t put it up due to the rain.
New Swings!
Around mid-February, the new swings were installed. Instead of wood supporting the tire swing, it is now metal poles. On one side of the tire swing is a regular swing.
Make sure to come out to Tucker Creek Park with your kids and have fun on the new swings!
