Missouri Deer Season is Coming Up, Here’s What you Need to Know

Missouri is beginning to experience fall weather, and with that, one starts thinking about deer hunting. Those majestic creatures that destroy foliage and cause vehicle accidents have a season all to themselves.

Details About Archery Season

Deer season begins with archery season. September 15. 2019 is opening day. This portion of archery is open until firearm season almost begins, November 15, 2019. Archery season stops throughout firearm season, before it reopens November 27, 2019. This part of archery lasts until January 15, 2019. This offers hunters plenty of time to track their game, kill it, and harvest it. Details About Firearm Season

Several dates divide the deer firearm season. Beginning with November 2-3, 2019 the youth may hunt. This allows new and young hunters to have an opportunity for the “big one” before experienced adults go into the field and practice their skills. This is during the archery season. The regular November portion of firearm season is November 16-26, 2019. Following this is another youth hunt at November 29- December 1, 2019. Missouri does have an antlerless season of December 6-8, 2019. And the firearm portion of the season ends with the alternative methods portion December 28, 2019- January 7, 2020.

General Details

Deer season begins one-half hour before sunrise each day and ends a one-half hour after sunset each day.  Hunters are required to wear orange during firearm season.
