Alton, Mo. – Due to the coronavirus, you may not be able to stay as active as you usually do. Here are ten activities for people that are not in total quarantine, to do to keep up your fitness level during a quarantine.
#1 Walk
An effective way to keep up your fitness level is to take a walk. If you have to go somewhere and you live close by, walk there. Or if you have a dog, take him for a walk.
#2 Climb Some Stairs
A good cardio exercise is to climb some stairs. If you live in an apartment or a two-story house spend some time climbing up and down the stairs.
#3 Go Biking
An enjoyable way to get exercise and enjoy nature is to take a bike ride. Take a wood trail and bike along it.
#4 Run A Route
If you have more time, put on your running shoes and go for a run. Running increases your stamina and gives you time to think about things happening.
#5 Shadow Boxing
A way to keep your heart rate up is to shadow box. You don’t have to wear boxing gloves you can just wear some comfortable clothes and shadow box. You can shadow box in front of a mirror or in front of a wall.
#6 Basic Exercises
A way to increase your strength is to do the basic exercises. Some of the exercises include as follows: squats, lunges, push-ups, pull-ups, planks, and crunches.
#7 Soccer
If you have a soccer ball lying around and you have some space in the backyard or at a park, practice your soccer skills. Even if you don’t have a park or backyard, go to a wall and kick the soccer ball against it.
#8 Basketball
Grab your basketball and go shoot some hoops. Basketball is one of the sports where you can practice on your own. Practice your three-pointers, layups, dribbling, fakes, and jump shots.
#9 Military Cardio
If you have a family member in the military or you’ve experienced some military cardio, get outside or stay in the house and do some military cardio. Some exercises include jumping jacks, burpees, and push-ups.
#10 Dance
You don’t have to be a professional dancer, all you have to do is turn on some music and dance to it!
Bonus Exercise
Stretch a little even though you may think it doesn’t help. Stretching helps when you’re working out or doing physical education. So look up some good stretches for all your muscles and do them.
