Christmas is almost here and a fun way to celebrate Christmas is to make cookies! Here are three fun and easy cookie recipes.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
A cookie one can never go wrong with is chocolate chip cookies. Here is the recipe:
2 1/4 cups flour | 3/4 cup brown sugar |
1 tsp. baking soda | 2 tsp. vanilla |
1/2 tsp. salt | 2 eggs |
1 cup butter or margarine | 1 package (12 oz.) chocolate chips |
1/2 cup sugar |
Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. Combine butter and sugars, beat until fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs; beat until smooth. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Place cookie dough by teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes until browned. Remove cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. Makes approximately 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
Volcano Cookies
An easy cookie recipe to make is volcano cookies. Here are the ingredients and directions:
3 tbsp. cocoa | 1 tsp. vanilla |
3 tbsp. butter | 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder |
1 cup sugar | 1/4 tsp. salt |
2 eggs | powdered sugar |
1 1/2 cups flour |
Mix all the ingredients except powdered sugar in a large bowl; chill dough for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350°F. Roll dough into balls. Put powdered sugar into a medium-sized bowl. Roll cookie dough ball in the powdered sugar. Place balls on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
A fun, and easy cookie recipe is the no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookies. Here is the recipe:
2 cups sugar | 1/2 cup peanut butter |
1/2 cup cocoa | 1 tsp. vanilla |
4 tbsp. butter | 3 cups rolled oats |
1/2 cup milk |
Place sugar, cocoa, butter, and milk into a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring the mixture continuously. Add the peanut butter, vanilla, and oatmeal. Stir well and remove from heat. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper. Let cool and harden. Yields about 2 1/2 tp 3 dozen.
