Earlier today, December 31, 2020, Senator Josh Hawley announced he is joining the #DoNotCertify caucus on January 6. He is the first senator to do so [1]. As the youngest senator, he is setting the pace on many conservative issues.

Hawley plans on objecting to the certification of Joe Biden’s electoral college alleged victory. Several states have contested results that could change the outcome of the election. Although the electoral college votes were certified quickly after the election, many instances of illegal activity across the news. Meanwhile, several House Representatives have already said they intend to do the same. With a single member of both the House and the Senate bringing objections, an impressive scenario begins in both chambers.

With Democrats and liberals crying foul play on the part of legal elections when there clearly is not, elected officials are choosing sides at this point. Hawley said,

I cannot vote to certify the electoral college results on January 6 without raising the fact that some states, particularly Pennsylvania, failed to follow their own state election laws.

Hawley had more to say regarding media interference in the election,

I cannot vote to certify without pointing out the unprecedented effort of mega corporations, including Facebook and Twitter, to interfere in this election, in support of Joe Biden.

At the very least, Hawley believes Congress should investigate allegations of voter fraud. NBC reports [2] that his dissention means that Republicans, as well as all legislators, will have to go on record about whether that support Trump’s voter fraud claims.
