The Heritage Foundation has issued its first Education Freedom, Report Card. Overall [1], America’s worst state is New York. Washington DC came right behind it. In contrast, the best state to live in regarding freedoms and governmental tyranny is Florida. Those two should not come as a surprise to any.

Best States

We begin with the best states. The states were graded on issues like school choice, transparency, regulatory freedoms, and spending. As said, Florida ranked number 1. Following shortly thereafter are Arizona, Idaho, Indiana, and South Dakota.

Worst States

The worst state was New York. After that comes New Jersey, Maryland, and Massachusetts.

School Choice

Overall, Hawaii and Massachusetts were the worst for school choice. The best states were Arizona, Indiana, and Florida. Missouri did rank number 4 in school choice.

Transparency

Unfortunately, Missouri ranked last for transparency. With us were Wisconsin and New York. The best states were Florida, Montana, and South Dakota.

Regulatory Freedom

The worst for regulatory freedom is President Biden’s home state of Delaware. Then comes Maryland and Oregon. On the good side, Mississippi, Florida, and Louisiana ranked tops.

Spending

The most terrible states for spending on the government are Connecticut, New Jersey, and Vermont. However, the best states are Idaho, Utah, and North Carolina.

Missouri Ranking

Overall, Missouri ranks number 17. We are very good for school choice (4), regulatory freedom (7), and spending(8). The transparency (50) was poor.
