Springfield’s MDC (Missouri Department of Conservation) can answer all these questions and more.<\/p>\n The snake is one of Missouri’s most misunderstood creatures. Despite their frightful reputations, snakes are useful pest-control animals for humans, most of which are not venomous.<\/p>\n Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) Springfield Conservation Nature Center is hosting a free program entitled \u201cReptiles: Snakes of Missouri\u201d. MDC Naturalist Jordanya Raos will discuss some of the common snake species found in Missouri. In addition to providing tips on identifying venomous snakes in the state, she will also discuss snakes’ valuable role as pest control agents when they hunt mice and rats.<\/p>\n MDC Naturalist Jordanya Raos will discuss some of the common snake species found in Missouri at the Dec. 28 event. Though this program is free, registration is NOT required to participate.
