Representative Jason Smith is in Washington, D.C., trying to fight against higher taxes spent on non-essentials. As chairman of the Ways and Means committee, he directs money. He is currently trying to stop the Democratic spending spree that has continued throughout the pandemic. He is working on Washington\u2019s debt crisis regarding the close debt ceiling.<\/p>\n
This committee is looking to improve the tax code to help working-class Americans. Last week it approved the Protecting Taxpayers and Victims of Unemployment Fraud Act \u2013 legislation Smith authored to help curb some of the billions of dollars in unemployment insurance benefits that have been to fraud.<\/p>\n
The House did pass the REIN IN Inflation Act, legislation Smith coauthored to combat rising prices by forcing the administration to disclose the impact of their policies on the cost of living.<\/p>\n
This bill requires the president to publish the inflationary impact of executive actions before they go into effect. The legislation will give Congress a much-needed tool in the fight to combat the cost-of-living crisis and rein in Biden\u2019s $1 trillion secretive spending spree. Representative Smith voted Yes.
