{"id":22428,"date":"2023-03-21T14:42:00","date_gmt":"2023-03-21T19:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.altonmo.com\/?p=22428&#038;preview=true&#038;preview_id=22428"},"modified":"2023-03-21T15:46:37","modified_gmt":"2023-03-21T20:46:37","slug":"the-details-on-the-school-tax-levy-coming-up-april-4th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.altonmo.com\/politics\/elections\/the-details-on-the-school-tax-levy-coming-up-april-4th-20230321","title":{"rendered":"The Details On The School Tax Levy Coming Up April 4th"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>At the last Alton, Missouri, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altonmo.com\/politics\/government\/alton-school-board-meeting-held-in-march-2023-20230311\">school board meeting<\/a> on March 9, 2023, the board members brought up the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altonmo.com\/politics\/government\/alton-school-board-asking-for-tax-levy-in-april-elections-20230313\">upcoming tax levy<\/a>, which will be voted on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vDvIHuthGpc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Money Per Year<\/h2>\n<p>The levy would add $0.10 per $100 on property tax per year for five years to the school tax.<\/p>\n<h2>Permanent Fix<\/h2>\n<p>If passed, the tax levy would rise for the five years and then stop, but it would be permanent after that fifth year.<\/p>\n<h2>The School<\/h2>\n<p>If the tax levy were to pass, the school would use it in various ways. One way they would use it is to have a shop class again.<\/p>\n<h2>Calculation<\/h2>\n<p>To determine what you would be paying for the five years, contact the county assessor Doug Bridges, at 417-778-7471.
