On September 21st, Governor Parson appointed Steven Privette as Presiding Judge for the 37th Judicial Circuit. Privette\u00a0ran against Melissa Stewart in the midterm elections in August. Although currently on the November ballot, he is without an opponent in the elections. Steven Privette will be replacing Judge David Evans in this job as the Presiding Judge for the 37th Judicial Circuit. [1]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n A judicial circuit is a designated area on the Missouri map that determines what judges get what cases. The 37th Judicial Circuit includes Howell, Oregon, Shannon, and Carter counties. Howell, Oregon, Shannon, and Carter counties were also the ones who voted for Steven Privette in the primary elections, which he did win.<\/p>\n Privette has been practicing law in Willow Springs, MO, at his law office, since 1984. Before that, he graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bussiness Administration. After that, he graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1984 and began serving as a prosecutor for both Howell and Oregon counties. Besides that, he has also served as a City Attorney for Willow Springs, Winona, and Summersville.
