Every day Congress is in session trying to shrink governmental influences in each person’s life. Southern Missouri’s representative, Jason Smith, has been fighting for our rights. Here is what he voted on this past week. From illegal immigrants to Isreal to flight, he cast his vote.

H.R. 3941, Schools Not Shelters Act: This act withholds federal aid provided by the Department of Education from public schools (elementary, secondary, and institutes of higher education) that shelter or house illegal aliens. This funding restriction would not apply when illegal aliens are housed on a short-term basis in response to a disaster, such as a fire, flood, or hurricane. Representative Smith voted yes. Resolution passed.
