Although free fishing days are past, Winona’s Twin Pines Conservation Education Center wants to encourage families to enjoy nature together. To accomplish this, they are hosting a Family Fishing Day. While Twin Pines has a beautiful arrangement for bird watching, hiking, archery, and picnicking, families fishing together is what the MDC (Missouri Department of Conservation) wants to promote.

The Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) Twin Pines Conservation Education Center (CEC) will host Family Fishing Day. The conservation area will hand out door prizes. On this day only, they offer permit-free fishing and even lunch to help encourage families to discover nature together. They will have prizes for those who catch the most fish, the largest fish, and even the smallest fish. They will have prizes for the oldest and youngest fisher people.

Twin Pines CEC Manager Reva Dow said,

This happens on Saturday, August 19, 2024.
