This is the library system used in public schools across the country. Although considered the oldest and largest library in the world, parents are revolting against the books allowed in public schools that contradict their religious and familial beliefs.<\/p>\n<p>In August, Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft announced the cut between Missouri and the ALA. He tweeted why:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Under my direction, Missouri was first in the nation to withdraw from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ALALibrary?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ALALibrary<\/a> due to their opposition to Christians, embrace of marxism, and refusal to protect our children. Texas joins ten other states in pulling their support &amp; more are expected.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/WZCyBfS9dl\">https:\/\/t.co\/WZCyBfS9dl<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Jay Ashcroft (@JayAshcroftMO) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JayAshcroftMO\/status\/1693253063572959609?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 20, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Ashcroft noted that he,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4>cannot continue to support an organization that does not protect the first amendment rights of Missourians and refuses to follow its own governing documents <a class=\"simple-footnote\" title=\"{{Texas Becomes Latest State to Ditch Library Group, }}\" id=\"return-note-26167-1\" href=\"#note-26167-1\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/a>.<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Shortly after that, ten other states, including Montana and Texas, removed themselves from ties with the ALA.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Abbot from Texas commented,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4>The ALA works against parents by fighting to keep pornographic materials in public libraries under the guise of opposing \u2018censorship <a class=\"simple-footnote\" title=\"{{Texas cutting ties with American Library Association over accusations of group&#8217;s &#8216;Marxist ideology&#8217;: Report}}\" id=\"return-note-26167-2\" href=\"#note-26167-2\"><sup>[2]<\/sup><\/a>.<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ashcroft stated that he does not support the ALA as it encourages<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4>libraries to take measures to stifle a faith-based publisher from holding story hours in libraries across the country, including Missouri <a class=\"simple-footnote\" title=\"{{Ashcroft Admonishes the American Library Association}}\" id=\"return-note-26167-3\" href=\"#note-26167-3\"><sup>[3]<\/sup><\/a>.<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>You can read his <a href=\"http:\/\/@misc{OfState-I.T.2023Sep, \tauthor = {Of State- I. As libraries are for the public, a room should be available equally, not based on religious or political preference.
