On September 6, 1620, a group of Christians, also known as Pilgrims, on board t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/this-day-in-history\/mayflower-docks-at-plymouth-harbor\">he Mayflowe<\/a>r set sail for the New World.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the crew, over 100 passengers brought what they could to start a new life in a new world, apart from religious discrimination.<\/p>\n<h3>Later<\/h3>\n<p>After a long two-month journey across the Atlantic Ocean, the Pilgrims landed at Cape Cod, Massachusettes. This happened on November 9, 1620. About a month later, on December 18, 1620, they landed at Plymouth Rock. This is where they drafted the Mayflower Compact before even going ashore. The Pilgrim&#8217;s effort to plant a colony here was begun for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith.
