It all began in England. On September 6, 1620, a group of Christians, also known as Pilgrims, on board the Mayflowe<\/a>r set sail for the New World.<\/p>\n Besides the crew, over 100 passengers brought what they could to start a new life in a new world, apart from religious discrimination.<\/p>\n After a long two-month journey across the Atlantic Ocean, the Pilgrims landed at Cape Cod, Massachusettes. This happened on November 9, 1620. About a month later, on December 18, 1620, they landed at Plymouth Rock. This is where they drafted the Mayflower Compact before even going ashore. Plymouth Rock was the first European settlement in the New World.<\/p>\nLater<\/h3>\n
