United States Representative Jason Smith has been busy this past week, voting on various topics. In total, Smith voted on three things.<\/p>\n

Speaker<\/h2>\n

On October 25, 2023, members of Congress voted on whether or not Representative Mike Johnson from Louisiana should be the new Speaker of the House<\/a>. Smith voted for Johnson, who is now the new Speaker of the House.<\/p>\n

Resolution 771<\/h2>\n

House Resolution 771<\/a> says that the “House of Representatives stands with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists.” [1]<\/sup><\/a> Representative Smith voted for this resolution, and the resolution was agreed to.<\/p>\n

HR 4394<\/h2>\n

House Bill 4394<\/a> rolls back administrative overreach currently obstructing domestic energy dominance and cuts wasteful spending in the industry, among other things. The bill passed and Smith voted for it.<\/p>\n
