House Speaker invited Calvary Chapel Pastor Jack Hibbs to pray in the House. However, many Democrats condemned this action.<\/p>\n
Pastor Hibbs was allowed to pray as a guest chaplain in the U.S. House of Representatives on January 30, 2024, reports The Christian Post<\/a>. By February 15, twenty-six Democrats wrote a letter to the Speaker of the House, condemning him for his choice in this matter.<\/p>\n In this letter, they denounced Hibbs as a Christian nationalist who was guilty of \u201cspewing hateful vitriol\u201d toward homosexuals because he had dared to affirm a Biblical view of marriage and sexuality.\u00a0 They were especially upset that he claimed rightfully that America was founded as a Christian nation<\/a>.<\/p>\n They insist that<\/p>\n They also had trouble with Hibbs’ use of the terms “holy fear,” “repentance,” and “national sins.”<\/p>\n You can read the names of those who signed the letter here<\/a>.<\/p>\n One who prays before Congress does have restrictions.
