Alton, Mo. \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Alton, MO- University of Missouri Extension in Oregon County is offering a Spring Pasture Walk on May 31st at 3 pm. A specialist will lead the walk while he discusses pasture weed and forage identification and control.
\n<\/span><\/div>\n

What Is Happening?<\/h3>\n
Haley Schwantz, MU Extension Agronomy Specialist, will discuss pasture weed and forage identification and control. Elizabeth Picking, MU Extension Livestock Specialist, will discuss and demonstrate how to start rotationally grazing with temporary electric fencing. They will tour a field north of Royal Oak, MO, by walking the pasture and discussing how to identify and manage different spring weeds and forages. They can also discuss managing rotational grazing systems, among other forage and livestock management topics.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

When Is This?<\/h3>\n

The walk is scheduled for May 31, 2024. It begins at 3:00 p.m. and continues until 5:00 pm. Please arrive at the back of the Harps parking lot by 3:10 p.m. to follow the specialist to a field north on US-160. <\/span><\/div>\n

This event is free, but registration is required as parking is limited.<\/p>\n
