The Extension<\/h2>\n

Governor Mike Parson has extended the statewide \u201cStay Home Missouri\u201d Order through May 3, 2020. To read more about the statewide \u201cStay Home Missouri\u201d Order read here<\/a>. Governor Mike Parson said, \u201cToday, I am extending the \u2018Stay Home Missouri\u2019 Order through Sunday, May 3, so we can prepare to reopen the economy and get Missourians back to work.\u201d [1]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n

The Governor’s Office will continue to monitor the situation and work with Missouri\u2019s hospitals, health care providers, public health experts, business leaders, and state departments to develop a plan from now until May 4.<\/p>\n

The Plan to Get Back on Track<\/h2>\n

Governor Parson has created a data-driven plan with two initial phases intended to protect those most at risk of exposure to COVID-19 while returning Missouri to a new normal. This plan is called \u201cShow Me Strong Recovery,\u201d and it will rest on four pillars.<\/p>\n

These pillars are:<\/p>\n

1. Rapidly expand testing capacity and volume in the state, including testing for those who are currently contagious and those who have developed immunity to the virus<\/p>\n

2. Expand reserves of PPE by opening public and private supply chains and continuing to utilize Missouri businesses in that effort<\/p>\n

3. Continue to monitor and, if necessary, expand hospital and health care system capacity, including isolation and alternate care facilities for those that cannot self-quarantine at home<\/p>\n

4. Improve the ability to predict potential outbreaks using Missouri’s public health data.<\/p>\n

This approach allows state leaders to evaluate the situation based on facts and locations.<\/p>\n
