Alton, Mo. – National Hamburger Day is Thursday, May 28, 2020. You may be the ordinary type of hamburger person, or you may put different foods on your hamburger. Either one you are, here are some foods you can put on your hamburger. Celebrate National Hamburger Day by having a cookout and trying some of these food additions.

The Ordinary

The ordinary hamburger is topped with ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, cheese, bun, and the onions. The number one topping for burgers is ketchup.

Chips

For every cookout, you have to have chips. It doesn’t matter what types of chips you have, sour cream and onion chips, barbeque chips or potato chips, you can put them on your burger. You get a little extra crunch to it.

Avocado

A healthy addition to the burger is avocado or guacamole. Spread the avocado or guacamole all over your burger and take a bite of it. It’s healthy, it adds color, and it tastes good.

Fries

If you have fries or onion rings lying around and you’re having a cookout with burgers, cook them up and put them on your hamburger.

Eggs

You may not think of eggs first when you think of a burger, but eggs are a different twist to your burger.

Pineapple

You may want some fruit on your burger as well. Just grab a pineapple and cut it up then put it on your burger.

Other

Some other foods that can be put on burgers are mushrooms, bacon, chili, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, salsa, and hummus.
