Missouri has had a very busy year. Nevertheless, primary elections are just around the corner. On August 4, 2020, preceding the November general elections on November 3, 2020, citizens vote. What with the pandemic, riots, and financial woes, who we elect for office lays a very great foundation as to the future of Missouri. This applies to not only next year but in the years to come. From the top-down, our candidates need to reflect our views. This should not be seen as a power grab. And Missouri Republican Gubernatorial Candidates are out to make themselves known.

The coronavirus brought devastating results to the economy and well being of our state. Several states have governors and mayors that keep the residents weighed down under a yoke of quarantining, face masks, and regulations. Is that truly what Missourians want? To have an authoritative government that dictates every move or motive? Do Missourians want one who will stand up and protect the right for life, even when threatened by rioters on their own property threatening our lives? With that being said, who is running for office? Missouri has eleven individuals running for the office of governor. Altonmo.com will try our best to keep you informed of the various openings around our state so you can make the most educated decision possible. This is a quick rundown of only the Republican candidates. More to follow of the Democrats and Libertarian and Green candidates.

The governor is elected for a term of four years. He or she must be at least 30 years old and a Missouri resident for at least 10 years. He or she must also be a U.S. citizen for at least 15 years before holding office. These are requirements.

We will begin here as our current governor, Governor Parson. Governor Parson has tried to stay informed of new conditions concerning the state. Besides protecting his citizens, he also believes Missourians have a brain and can decide for themselves if ill and need to remain indoors, or if fresh air will be more beneficial. Three other candidates have applied for candidacy for governor. They are Raleigh Ritter, James W. Neely, and Saundra McDowell.

Ritter hales from Seneca, Missouri, near Joplin. He has lived there several generations. This man has a strong business background and has no unpaid debts or judgments. Ritter is a rancher and strong second amendment candidate. He is pro-life unashamedly. He has a website for additional information here.

This is our current governor, conservative in many issues. He did not keep the citizens in quarantine longer than necessary. He is trying to move the state back into open business policies. However, when the McCloskeys were confronted by protesters on their own property, this governor sadly did nothing, not condemning the protesters, or offering support to the couple even when the police failed to show up. The McCloskeys are currently made into bad citizens for following the law.

Neely comes from the city of Cameron, which is near Kansas City. He has been a Missouri House Representative since 2012. Here you can see the bills he sponsored along with contact information. He is a physician and a veteran.

McDowell currently resides in Springfield with her family. She ran for state auditor last election but was unqualified. She thought the public would not notice because she “meant” to be a Missouri resident. Are there other personal points where she believes the citizens need to obey the law, but she doesn’t? Or will she wait until she possibly wins the primaries to bring noteworthy items out? This causes us to choose between her, a lawbreaker, or possibly a Democrat.

Mike Parson
