Beavers are one of the largest rodents in North America. With their peculiar looks and unusual habits, they attract attention wherever they go. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is attempting to capitalize on curiosity, and they set up an online program about beavers.

What Is Planned?

Beavers are known for chewing wood and building dams. This rodent plays an integral part in the outdoor world, and MDC is planning on displaying these habits in a puppet show.

A puppet will describe the lives of these mammals and will talk about the special adaptations beavers have to live in and around water. This program is entitled “Little Acorns: Busy Beavers”.

Also planned is a question and answer time where participants can interact with the presenters.

What Age Can Attend?

MDC is planning this online program for children ages 2-7. Although older children and even adults can benefit from this presentation, younger children may have trouble focusing on the teaching aspects.

When Is The Program?

The MDC set aside the date of July 31 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Does This Cost?

There is no cost for this viewing. However, registration is required preceding the event. One can register here: https://mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/173839.

Registrants must provide an email address. Registration enables the MDC to send a program link to them.

MDC has virtual programs discussing a variety of topics. A listing of these programs can be found here.
