Alton, Mo. – The Alton Farmer’s Market is having its final meeting this Saturday. After a confused spring, the farmer’s market picked up the pace. It opened at the end of May [1]. By the middle of summer, many booths offered bright colors of locally grown produce for affordable costs.

What Is For Sale?

Although the heat of summer is past, fresh produce is still arrayed on tables. Tomatoes and beans align themselves next to potatoes and squash. T-shirts, as well as homemade baskets and towels, top other booths.

Weather?

Don’t let cooler weather dissuade you from seeing what is for sale. Merchants are out one final time for the season. This Saturday is the final farmer’s market of the season and the year. The weather is forcast to be sunny on Saturday although rain is in the forecast for the majority of the week.

Location

The Alton Farmer’s Market is at the same place it met all year: Tucker Creek Walking Park. This is behind the First Baptist Church. The market itself meets down the hill in the open field where there is plenty of room for parking. Tables are close enough together to shop, but far enough away to allow social distancing.
