Alton, Mo. –The Alton Chamber of Commerce met on Thursday, January 16, 2025, for their monthly meeting as well as their first meeting of 2025.
Pocket Park
The Chamber is still working on getting a grant for the pocket park located on the square. The park is planned to have a gazebo (stage), a little garden, a sidewalk, a rock walk, and trees.
Miscellaneous Info
It was brought up about not waiting until June for the officer elections. Another topic brought up was membership dues. It costs $25 for individuals and $40 for businesses, and they are due by June 30th.
Becca’s Closet
A final topic discussed was Becca’s Closet of the Ozarks which provides prom dresses, or formal dresses, to girls who can’t afford a dress. The Alton United Methodist Church is sponsoring it with the headquarters for being at their church’s parsonage. Becca’s Closet is open to any high school girls. To sign up to pick out a dress for homecoming, prom, or Valentine’s Day dances, you can go here and set an appointment.
Next Meeting
The next meeting is February 20, 2025, at noon at the Alton United Methodist Church basement. Everyone, whether an individual or representing a business, is invited to attend.
