Alton, Mo. – The Alton Chamber of Commerce met on Thursday, June 16, 2022. Although not too many members were present, a lot was discussed. Jason’s Mexican Restaurant was kind enough to allow the meeting to take place there. Here are the highlights.
Walnut Festival
A lot of planning goes into making the Walnut Festival a hit each year. The Chamber is planning rates and happenings already.
Memberships
Membership renewal letters will be going in the mail. Be alert and ready to renew your membership. If you aren’t a member, you can join- whether or not you run a business. Also, it was discussed about having a banner up announcing the Chamber meetings. The Alton Chamber of Commerce wants to get more speakers in to assist business owners grow our community.
Prizes
A welcome addition was discussed. The Chamber awards prizes for a high schooler going to college and also a school age entrant who designs the Walnut Festival t-shirt. These awards are available to home school families! Keep an eye on the Chamber’s Facebook page to find deadlines, contact information, or any restrictions.
Eclipse
At the next meeting, the Chamber wants to elect committee members for various duties for the upcoming eclipse.
The Chamber of Commerce is here to help local business. The next scheduled meeting is July 21, 2022, at the CWC (Community Worship Center).
