Alton, Mo. – The Alton Chamber of Commerce met on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at noon at the Burger Palace. They reviewed the Walnut Festival and briefly talked about the Christmas parade.
Review
The Chamber of Commerce got twenty-seven new business members and eight individual memberships.
Contests
In the pumpkin carving contest, the Chamber had ninety pumpkins and all of them were used up. The baking contest also had several entries. The woodworking, though, only had one entry.
Next Year
The Chamber talked about maybe having a photo booth next year. They also talked about having a find-the-rock challenge around the square again.
Run The Town
Members of the chamber discussed the Run The Town For Gold. They agreed that the school is not a good place to have the run. They had people driving their cars on the run route. Next year it will be on the square again.
Christmas Parade
Very briefly, the chamber mentioned the Christmas parade. It is set for Saturday, December 4, 2021, in the evening.
