Alton, MO- For several Saturdays now, the Alton Farmers market has been open for business. With table vendors displaying their wares, the market is a fascinating place to be. With the sun dawning in the early summer mornings, people are already out, showing off their goods for sale.
Farmers Market
The new market is currently located at Tucker Creek Park behind the swimming pool. Local farmers set up their tables and meet to sell their wares. Residents from all walks of life come, selling a variety of items. Livestock, homemade items, and food all make an appearance at the park. Petting animals are also available for all to enjoy.
When is it?
The Farmer’s market is held every Saturday from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. It will be running until fall. Many people who have things to sell bring canopies or umbrellas as a shield from the hot summer sun, although trees inside the park provide sprawling shade. Produce, hand-sewn items, and even barbecue is present.
Parking is available throughout the park with parking lots filling quickly. Vehicles can also park along the gravel roadside, in the grass. There is no cost to attend the Farmer’s market, but everything is tempting for passerby’s to buy from the multiple tables arrayed in homemade and homegrown goods.
