Alton, Mo. – The Alton Farmer’s Market met for one final time for the season. Meeting at Tucker Creek Park, vendors had tables set up with a variety of goods to sell. Many local residents stopped by to see the goods one last time before winter break.
What Was Selling?
Although not selling, Wes Conrad was available at a table handing out free hot cocoa as a way of thanking customers for participating in the market all season. There were two meat vendors: one selling beef and one selling poultry. Another vendor was selling squash and late-season produce. A couple of tables had home-baked goods for sale.
When Was Farmer’s Market?
The Alton Farmer’s Market meets in the spring until the last Saturday in October. It meets from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. It is done now until spring. After a trying spring, the vendors are obviously hoping for a better spring in 2021.
Where Does The Market Meet?
The Farmer’s market meets at Tucker Creek Park. This is behind the First Baptist Church that is on Highway 19. The vendors set up tables down the hill from the playground, usually in the shade of trees. Two gravel parking lots border the booths. When the crowd is large, sellers often park along the road.
