The HSBC banking and financial staff, in New York, have been using Samsung S3 smartwatches to enhance their customer service abilities. HSBC is all about doing their best for the customers and if that takes going out on a technological limb and using watches to improve customer services.
Using Watches to Enhance Banking
Samsungs customized smartwatch Gear S3 can seamlessly communicate with people, set reminders and appointments that remain invisible to everyone except the wearer, simplified interface that allows quick and easy reading and sending of messages. The customized HSBC watch also has 4G LTE which gives the user the ability to answer phone calls without the need for your phone to be nearby. With these features, the staff at HSBC banks can easily communicate with one another to keep their customers happy and their coworkers in the loop.
“Our biggest asset are our people, and we believe the most innovative technology can help them free up time and be more efficient in how they communicate, which is a big win for our customers,” said Jeremy Balkin, Head of Innovation, Retail Banking and Wealth Management, HSBC US. [1]

Currently, twelve members [2] of the HSBC are wearing the S3 watch. The associate can easily use their watch to send a notification to an available staff member to assist anyone who walks through the front doors of the bank.
With a watch the HSBC banking team member is no longer stuck to their desk or phone, waiting for a notification or phone call. Now the staff can move freely throughout the building while keeping up with each other using the S3s communication abilities. Right now the HSBC bank is experimenting with the watches and their customers at their retail bank in New York City. If this works, making customers happier and work for their staff more efficient, then the rest of their branches might find themselves sporting new watches as well.
