Kohl’s Announces Plans to Offer Free Amazon Returns in Stores

Amazon is one of the biggest retail stores in the industry and controls a large portion of online purchases. It’s no wonder that some stores are trying to get close to Amazon and maybe score a few shoppers while they’re at it, which is what Kohl’s decided to do after they started selling 200 of Amazon’s products ^[1] in their stores last month. This month they’re going above and beyond by offering free Amazon returns in all 1,150 of their stores.

Ordering from Amazon is easy, Prime shipping is fast, but what if you don’t like what you receive? Do you really have the time and temperament to pack it all up, throw on a return label and drop it off at the nearest post office? In case you don’t feel like going through the return process, Kohl’s has recently announced that they’ll take care of everything for you.

Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief executive officer, has said that this partnership with Amazon is a way to enhance both companies customer service while also encouraging people to buy from Kohls while they’re there.

“We are thrilled to bring Amazon Returns at Kohl’s to all of our stores across the country,” said Michelle Gass, “Amazon and Kohl’s have a shared passion in providing outstanding customer service, and this unique partnership combines Kohl’s strong nationwide store footprint and omnichannel capabilities with Amazon’s reach and customer loyalty. This new service is another example of how Kohl’s is delivering innovation to drive traffic to our stores and bring more relevance to our customers.” ^[2]

Currently, Kohl’s offers Amazon returns in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Los Angeles but by the end of July, the new feature will be available at all 1,150 of their locations.

Customers can just bring eligible Amazon purchases to Kohl’s, and Kohl’s will return them for free, regardless of the reason for return or whether the items are packaged for shipping or not.
