Alton, Mo. – Oregon County Farmers Market will hold a farmer’s meeting. This is to kick off the 2020 season of gardening.
Details About This Meeting
On Saturday, January 25, 2020, the Alton Community Worship Center will host residents and interested parties concerned about the upcoming farmers market season. The meeting begins at 2:00 p.m.
Goals For This Meeting
There are four, at least, goals for this meeting. The first is scheduling the opening day of the farmers market. With a mild winter, local residents are thinking of growing things. However, cold weather is upon us. We look to others to grow fresh foods. The second goal is to offer renewal vendor training for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Voucher Program. The third goal is simply to renew vendor applications. Next, discussing market manager changes needs to be examined. The fifth and final goal os this gathering is to exchange views on strengthening relationships among vendors, market patrons, and other supporters.
Who Can Come
This is not a closed-door meeting; all who are involved in the farmers market are invited to come. Community members not before involved in the market are encouraged to attend. The doors are also open to anyone interested in promoting and supporting the market.
