Alton, Mo. – The Alton Chamber of Commerce met on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, to finish planning for the 37th Annual Black Gold Walnut Festival which will happen on October 1, 2022.
Opening Ceremony
This year for the Walnut Festival’s opening ceremony, the Boy Scouts will not be able to present the colors. Instead, the VFW will present them. Hope Rackley will be singing the National Anthem.
Booths Availability
There are still booth spaces available for vendors. You can refer to a previous Walnut Festival article on the prices and parking spaces, but if you need a booth space with electricity there are still quite a few left.
Contests
There are going to be three contests again this year: baking, woodcarving, and pumpkin carving. Make sure to get your creativity caps on!
Schedule
The Walnut Festival begins at 9:00 am and goes until 3:30 pm. Music will also be playing throughout the day. A new band that will be playing is On The Outside.
