Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls traded steady to 2.00 higher. Demand was good on a light supply, due to the upcoming holiday. The last sale of 2021 was a combined feeder and slaughter/replacement cow auction. The offering consisted of several small drafts as sellers were looking to turn some beef into cash for Santa and the County Collector. Ozarks Regional Stockyard’s yearly totals for 2021 were: Feeder cattle 163,165 head which was 837 head more than a year ago; Video Auction 30,816 head which was 17,230 more than a year ago; Slaughter/Replacement Cow 43,683 head which was 3,289 head less than a year ago. On behalf of the Market News Service I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Supply included: 62% Slaughter Cattle (8% Bulls, 92% Cows); 38% Replacement Cattle (4% Cow-Calf Pairs, 79% Bred Cows, 9% Stock Cows, 8% Bred Heifers);
