Ozarks Regional Stockyards Slaughter / Replacement Cattle – Jun 21, 2023
Summary:
Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly steady. Demand was moderate and the supply was heavy although lighter than the last week. Culling of herds continues to take place as pasture conditions worsen each week. There was a few full herd dispersals in the offering with some very good quality cows going to slaughter as buyers for take home cows are fairly hard to find. A few of the very best cows did find new homes but those orders weren’t nearly large enough to catch all the cows that still had much to offer if only feed was more plentiful.
Supply included (percentages are rounded): 82% Slaughter Cattle (7% Bulls, 93% Cows); 18% Replacement Cattle (19% Cow-Calf Pairs, 72% Bred Cows, 9% Stock Cows);
