Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls sold 2.00-4.00 lower. Demand was good on a heavy supply of slaughter animals, a moderate supply of bred cows and a light supply of pairs. The top slaughter cow brought 145.00/cwt. while the top slaughter bull sold for 179.00/cwt. The USDA released its Cold Storage Report last week and reported total pounds of beef in freezers were up 6 percent from the previous month but down 2 percent from last year.
