Ozarks Regional Stockyards Slaughter / Replacement Cattle – Jan 4, 2023
Summary:
Slaughter cows and bulls traded even higher than two weeks ago at 3.00-4.00, while bred cows traded 75.00-150.00 higher. Demand was good on a moderate supply of slaughter animals and bred cows. Supplies were lighter than expected as heavy rains across much of the area earlier in the week made hauling cattle difficult. There was a good selection of bred cows on hand; however, the offering of cow/calf pairs was very light.
Supply included (percentages are rounded): 72% Slaughter Cattle (13% Bulls, 87% Cows); 28% Replacement Cattle (1% Bulls, 2% Cow-Calf Pairs, 52% Bred Cows, 44% Stock Cows, 2% Bred Heifers);
