Ozarks Regional Stockyards Slaughter / Replacement Cattle – Oct 2, 2024
Summary:
Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to 3.00 higher. Bred cows were 100.00-150.00/per head higher. Demand was good on a light supply. Slaughter prices traded higher this week due to concerns that beef imports will decrease because of the dockworkers strike at major East and Gulf coast ports. The USDA’s Cold Storage Report, released last week, reported total pounds of beef in freezers were down 2 percent from the previous month and down slightly from last year.
