Summary:
Slaughter cows were 3.00-5.00 higher and slaughter bulls were 4.00-7.00 higher. Demand was very good on moderate supply. Slaughter animals continue to set new records with two bulls topping the market at 180/cwt. and the top cow bringing 141/cwt. Also included in the offering was over 90 head of Red Angus bred cows and pairs from a herd dispersal. The USDA’s Cold Storage Report, released Monday, reported beef in cold storage was down 6 percent from the previous month and down 12 percent from last year.
