Thayer, Missouri, is getting a big addition to the town: a sports complex. On March 18, 2024, the new owners signed the papers, making the deal complete.
Owners
The new owners are Myrtle Rigel, Melissa Horton, and Sheila Holder. [1] Myrtle Rigel’s vision is to provide a place where individuals can come together to enjoy a wide variety of activities.
We are thrilled to bring this sports complex to Thayer, Missouri. Our vision is to provide a place where families, athletes, and community members can come together to enjoy a wide range of sports and recreational activities. [2]
Rigel also sees the new sports complex as “not only a significant investment in the future of Thayer but also as a testament to our commitment to promoting health, wellness, and community spirit.”
Sports Complex
The sports complex will be state-of-the-art. It will be at the old River Country Chevrolet property. The complex will be 30,000 square feet. The new sports complex will have modern amenities and top-of-the-line facilities.
What Is It?
In case you are unsure of what a sports complex is, here are several definitions. ResearchGate says that it is a closely knit, well-balanced grouping of indoor and out-door game facilities offering a wide range of activities on a comparatively small land area. [3]
Law Insider defines a sports complex as enclosed areas of sports pavilions, stadiums, gymnasiums, health spas, boxing arenas, swimming pools, roller and ice rinks, billiard halls, bowling alleys, and other similar places where members of the general public assemble to engage in physical exercise, participate in athletic competition or witness. [4]
Construction
Master’s Timber Frame and Construction, in partnership with Ozarks Contracting Solutions, LLC, will construct the sports complex. They will break ground on Monday, March 25, 2024.
The New Building
Micaih McRae with Master’s Timber Frame and Construction said that the building currently on the property will stay but be remodeled. The main parking area to the left of the dealer will be where the 30,000-square-foot building will go. [5]
